Annurca apple is considered the “regina delle mele”, for its nutritional and organoleptic properties, the annurca apple is the only Italian apple native to the south, precisely of Campania, where the cultivations are concentrated in a particular way in the Neapolitan, Casertano and beneventano.
Its name, characteristic, comes from “mela orcula”, first name of the fruit, of Roman times, (later orcola, anorcola and annorcola), deriving from the area of Campania origin, the so-called area of the Orco.
